Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts

A resurgent the Russian player secured his maiden championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just one match at the big events and suffering a setback at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-term mentor Cervara.

Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court after spring of that year.

Victory also means the Russian has achieved 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, including in Halle previously this season.

His retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led observers to wonder if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.

However the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, took control to push for a decider.

The opponent saved 4 initial break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner secured victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
